I had to post this one... because of the utter stupidity this represents. When I first heard about this article I thought it had to be satire. In fact, it's not really known if the site really IS satire like the Onion, or if it truly is from a religious group. If the former, it's the biggest laugh fest to come online since the Onion. If the latter, humanity is doomed... because the utter ignorance of this group is staggering... But for the sake of this post, let's assume someone actually believes this crap. Because apparently... some do. There's just enough truth to it that makes you question your own judgement of the site!
First off, let's pick apart the site a little... "Christwire.org" is written like it's a religious site that support's Christ's teachings... and then uses the tag line "Conservative Values for an Unsaved World". Last time I checked, all who believed in Christ were saved... so um? Your site's namesake (Jesus Christ) has guaranteed you eternal life through His innocent suffering and death... and you're still not saved? Hmm... just what exactly does your religion believe about Christ then?
Secondly, the site veers off the Politically Correct Choo Choo with articles on how American sports are the only sports God "endorses" or "19th Amendment: Celebrating 90 years of Feminism Destroying America, Vote by Vote". Riiiight. Ok then.
But what brings this ignorant, undefinable, totally psychotic site to my attention is an article entitled "Is my Husband Gay?". The article goes on to list several "signs" that wives need to watch out for... so they know if their husband truly is a closeted homosexual and they should take action to "straighten" him out.
Seriously... you have to read the full article. Because I'm just laughing hysterically that anyone would believe this crap!

Day Off
Yesterday was the first day in a LONG time that I didn't post on the blog. Nothing exciting really happened so there wasn't much to post! LOL
Today I'm sitting here just surfing and I cam across a couple pretty cool games that I think I might have to pick up in the future... Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Age of Empires Online.
First off, both these titles are from a couple of my favorite game series. They rank right up there with Warcraft and the Sims stuff. Now it looks like they are both releasing new version.
Hot Pursuit looks to return NFS to open world racing, which I just love. Half the fun I have in NFS is just driving around the city, exploring, and taunting the cops. And now it looks like they are making it even better. You'll now be able to PLAY a cop... and have a LOT more interaction with your friends, which is really cool
AoE looks to bring the RTS game to the online world... somehow blending it with a persistent universe. I wonder how they are going to handle things like rebuilding after an attack... especially if you're not on. In any case, I look forward to seeing it. Should be pretty cool. :)

Outted by Facebook
Well I guess this was inevitable. I mean I did sorta ask for it... just not quite this way. LOL
I switched my Facebook profile a while back to finally be totally 'out' online... indicating that I was interested in men in my profile. The only problem is Facebook's system utilizes these inputs to customize your experience... and basically offers this information to advertisers too! So the ads in the sidebar are more appropriate for the person viewing them
Well that's all fine and dandy... but the instant you switch a profile to be a Man interested in Men, 90% of the ads are suddenly for gay dating services! I mean c'mon! Seriously Facebook? I could understand one or two every now and then... but EVERY FRIGGIN AD went all horny and sex related. "Chat with Local Gay Guys", Ready to Find "Him"?, and "DailyJocks.com" all popped up on the SAME PAGE!

Is that all we think about? Find a guy, oogling them, are figure out ways to have sex with them? C'mon Facebook...
Anyways... I had to do research on a company and of course, that involved their Facebook page. Normally, I don't use Facebook as a reference source, but it was their only online presence... and with my boss watching the screen... there came the Gay advertisements plastered all over the right side.
So thanks, Facebook. I guess I asked for this...

Fried
Well, it finally died. My computer has been acting up for the last month and now it's totally dead. Won't even boot up anymore. So I'm blogging to you from the amazing iPad. Hopefully I'll get some of the money owed to me and can start building a new system soon... Else I'll be stuck using the office computer for everything... And thus spending even more time there.

For Rent
I think I've posted some of the lyrics to this in the past... and you might check back through the blog archives if you're completely bored... but I thought I'd post again just how much I love the musical "Rent". You can blame my friend, Ky, for bringing this all up again. :)
Rent's story is a sad one... both on stage and off... but a celebratory one as well. Here's a group of people living in the East Village and living with disease. It's poignant message of "celebrate every day" still resonates to this day for me... nearly 14 years after it's first production.
I have never actually seen the production live... but I'd like to consider myself a Rent-Head... maybe a Rent-Head Lite? I have seen the "Filmed Live on Broadway" and the movie version. (I prefer the Broadway version, myself.) I really would love to see it live sometime, but I'm not sure it's even touring anymore. I hope it is. The next time I see it come anywhere near Phoenix, I'm going to go see it.
And I'm probably dragging Ky and Stone with me... :) Like there would be any dragging involved...

Responsible Procreationist
I've now heard everything. I'm getting to the point where it's getting harder and harder to stay positive in the fight against stupidity. I once saw an amazing quote...
"Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated,
and drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever."
-Aristophanes
How right he was. When I first heard that quote, I laughed because it's true! There are just some people you cannot teach. Like the old idiom about old dogs and new tricks. They're just untrainable.
These days however, this quote is extremely depressing... for it reminds me that there are a lot of stupid people out in the world... and right now, it seems every one of them thinks it's their mission to stop equality in it's tracks.
Bad language after the jump...
Dante's Cove - First Season Done
Let me give you some backstory here. I had heard of Dante's Cove a long time ago... when Queer as Folk was still on the air. (That gives you a bit of perspective eh?) It was just going to be starting up that fall after QaF's run was over. I thought at the time "Great! I'll be able to carry my addition from QaF to DC." But then it orignally only aired on here!, which I originally didn't get on any cable system locally. Secondly, I was turned off by the supposed "supernatural" element that was going to be a major part of the story. I had never really followed Buffy or Angel so I didn't think I could get interested in DC. And as I result, I pretty much ignored it when it released. But these days, I'm looking for more and more gay-centered drama/romance stories, and decided to give Dante's Cove another look. So using my Netflix subscription, I got DVD 1 of Season 1.
First off, this could hardly be dubbed a "Season". It consisted of 2 episodes... the first just 84 minutes and the second 106 minutes. However, there was some pretty nice eye candy in those 190 minutes, lemme tell ya. LOL I'm actually VERY surprised by the amount of nudity and full on sex. If you thought Queer as Folk was bold, you ain't seen nothing yet. Seeing as the show is only distributed "On Demand" via here! on-demand, they can pretty much go all pornographic, which actually made me feel a little dirty watching it. LOL
The Sci-Fi elements that did crop up kind of threw me at first. I was started to get uninterested after the spells started being cast... but figured I'd at least stick it out through the DVD. I'm glad I did. While the spells were turning me off... and the amount of nudity in the front started bordering on pornographic, it finally evened out a little with more story than sex.
I then found that the second episode... or season finale... was actually on a second DVD. Luckily, I found it streaming on gay.com as well... in not as good a quality as the DVD, but still watchable. So I caught the rest of Season 1 online. And now I'm kicking myself for not bringing the NetFlix envelope to work so I can return the DVD and get the next on in the series. LOL
Guess you could say I'm a little hooked... but with only 2 episodes under my belt, I can't really say one way or the other yet. Only that I'm glad the amount of nudity went down... and I'm hoping I can make it through the supernatural bits and come out on the other side still liking it. :)

Dante's Cove - Part 2
Ok I was wrong... think Queer as Folk on Playboy Channel. This thing has more nudity than a porno! This was allowed on TV?!
Now I'm frightened...
Now I'm frightened...
Hotel Dante
I just started watching Dante's Cove, a sci-fi/horror gay-themed soap opera. Think "Queer as Folk" meets "Buffy" and add a dash of the Exorcist.
I'm only about 50 minutes into it, so I can't be sure whether I like it or not.... but the supernatural part of it is a little bit freaky. I'm not usually into horror stuff... but the awesome eye candy is making me stay interested.
